1) Your child will be running their conference
2) They will be taking you on their own education journey
3) If you have other kids and don't know what to do with them, bring them when your child's conference is going:) I will have a station for siblings
4) They will impress you
5) They will show you their goals
6) Allow them to whisk you away in all the things they have been doing
7) I will be in the background for support if your child needs me
8) Have a great time learning about what you student thinks of themselves academically
I have done these in 3rd and 6th grade and the parents have said that they have received more information from their own child than conferences in the past. It is a lot of work for your child to prepare; however, they are excited and nervous all at once :)
Our First Ever Published Class Book
The kids have been working on a whole class book about Santa's Elves. Each student is writing his or her own story and then coloring a page to go with it. They are adorable! I was able to find a publishing company that would bind the books and ship them here to Montana. HOW CRAZY IS THAT! This company works specifically with schools to allow every kid to be a publisher. They are selling the books for 19.95 and we are doing it so early so that they can be handed out as Christmas presents:) Please Return the slips by Monday the 2nd so I can get the original to the publisher by the 11th of November.
I will be purchasing a book and I cannot wait to get it!!!!!
