Also, this is a plea for help to PLEASE assist your lovelies on their multiplication facts as much as possible. We are moving into harder problems now and those who still do not know their facts really are struggling.
Disco Bowling-
The kids have disco bowling with the PE teacher this Thursday. She puts on disco music, a black light and all sorts of fun things. They can bring a soda,if it has a screw on cap, and a bag of goodies to snack on. SHE WILL NOT ALLOW THEM A SODA OR DRINK IF IT DOES NOT HAVE A CAP ON IT. Also, no coffee or energy drinks allowed. That would be a disaster for all involved ha:)
What we are learning this week-
Math- How to multiply big problems using expanded form. This really helps them understand WHY we do mult. the way we do.
ex: 6 x 567 can be broken down into 6 x 500=
6 x 60=
6 x 7=
Reading- How to read poetry and determine the author's point of view
Spelling- Unit 2 Week 5
Language- Still working on combining sentences
Writing- Moving onto opinion writing where they will answer the question " Should Santa retire?" using their opinion, reasons and examples
Social Studies- Starting our big Native American unit with tribes in Montana
Science- How thunderstorms and hurricanes are created
